If you’ve never done Fran, please do not say “Oh, that’s all we’re doing?”. You’ll only break your own heart.

Bench press burnout was really horrible.

9:16 maybe a PR. My last recorded time in my notebook was last April and was 11:39. Remember to keep on keepin’ on and it’ll pay off in the long run. I’m pretty freakin’ happy except for the fact that I can’t see straight right now.

I looked through the history books and today was a PR by 2:03.
If I ever meet a lady named Fran I may punch her in the face because of this workout. I might even use Marc’s neologism and call her a “douchetard”. Probably not though.

From an article called the “Hard Routine” in the crossfit journal. Hard routine is a term used by the British SAS which basically means putting on your game face or being focused…

“But what, precisely, is it? The hard routine is primarily an
exercise in mental toughness. As such, it is vital to grasp
the component of psychology that permeates the hard
routine. In any rigorous endeavor, the bedrock for success
lies in the mindset of the individual. I am reminded of
the story popular in the business world about burning
boats. Alexander the Great, when he sailed into Asia,
disembarked his infantry and then set his entire navy
ablaze in the harbor. The only way home meant a march
across land and through the enemy: victory or death.
Total commitment. A potent psychological shift occurs
when the possibility of giving up disintegrates into ashes.
The hard routine grants the willing participant entry into
a hard sanctum located in a lucid place of the mind, free
of the “soft” psychological distractions and habits that
can hinder sustained changes in action. In short, it boils
    down to denial of self-indulgence.”
