well… I was planning to do the whole workout RX. 10/20/30
7:20 mile #1 (new 1 mi PR)
all 100 pullups rx
all 300 air squats rx
first 130 pushups rx – attempted at least 10 more times but failed. Moved through rest of pullups and air squats and kept failing on pushups. Broke down and finally did the last 70 pushups on my knees.
I didn’t time my last mile, but I finished in 77:19. Depressing…
I did better than Feb 15th though. 55 min with band pullups and knee pushups for the whole thing.
A helpful hint: I wore 5 elastic hair ties on my wrist, and moved them all from one arm to the other to help keep track of my count. It was much easier than trying to remember or writing rounds on the board.
My counting method for murph is I bring 20 pennies and put them in a pile, each penny represents 5 pullups, 10 pushups, and 15 squats. I start out with sets of 10/20/30 and move two pennies, but finish with 5/10/15 moving one penny. I refuse to lose count on murph.
46:01 rx @ KILO Thanks Tiff for the use of your daughter for keeping count of my rounds on her paper!! Hats off to Farmer and Rossin for completing Murph with 40# vests on!!!! That looked ssooo BRUTAL!!
First mile was 8:5something, which was a PR for me.
First 64 push ups were RX, rest on knees.
First 10 pull ups were RX, my hands are still ripping from 2 weeks ago!
Last mile was 12:something…I started to get a side cramp like I have never experienced before so I had to walk a bit! Thank you Shantelle for pushing me!
Hat’s off to Jon for doing the workout in a vest as well. Whenever I started to feel sorry for myself, I just looked at Jon and thought, I got it easy! Also, you should ask him to imitate his running form for the last mile going down hill. It’s pretty funny!
61:01 rx…last time I was in the 47 min range, so, when I saw I wasn’t even close this time, I had a bad tude and was like F IT…..bad, but, true
I rode my bike to and from work, so, I was already tired when I got there……that’s my excuse….haha
Did some creative partitioning. Did all but 30 of my squats and all of my pushups before I started the pullups. Freakin’ suck at pushups. Then did pullups in sets of 10s and 5s with a few squats to break it up. Thanks, Troy, for the counting suggestion. It worked well for me.
